Taiwanese style castella cakes are all the rage nowadays, and for good reason. The storefront was enticing with freshly baked cakes, that were jiggly to the touch, beig taken out and apportioned every now and then. We got the cheese flavour and the original flavour.
The original flavored cake was extremely light, eggy and incredibly more-ish. I could eat this quite often and its price makes for a very convenient and value snack. I can understand how this would be popular with the market as it was easy to down, especially for the older folks.
The cheese flavoured cake however brought a heaviness to it that I did not really appreciate. I would stick to the original flavour.
