The matcha cake was pedestrian and honestly a little dry. 

The kueh salat was superb with its wobbly custard which was a great contrast to the chewy rice. The custard was more delicate than the “rougher” variety offered at old school places like Bengawan Solo. I thought this was a pretty unique choice for a birthday cake and had actually ordered an entire cake for my mother’s birthday.

The durian salat was a let down as it tasted a little mushy and overall underwhelming.
